Cowboy Hats

Cowboy Hats are required in most western classes, both riding and halter. Neutral colors like black, silver belly, buckskin, and cream colors coordinate with most show wardrobes. Straw hats are often worn in summer months, but felt hats are appropriate year round. If buying a felt hat, look for the highest fur content you can afford. Hats with more felt than fur wear poorly and tend to look cheap for the show ring.
